Scams
As much as we'd like to trust everyone, it would be a pretty naive way to live. You should be wary of those wanting to make a quick buck out of anyone and anything.Advice for Buyers
- Read the entire advert - you may just be a buying a box rather than the contents.
- Watch out for 'small print' clauses - these are often the most important but purposefully hidden within the main text.
- Be suspicious of sparsely written adverts - you may not be buying what you think.
- Research the item - independent reviews are generally more accurate than a Seller's own description.
- Research the Seller- do not send cash or cheque payments unless you are sure they are genuine. Check their Reputation rating and feedback comments.
- Do not trade outside of Dewgraze - users who ask you to contact them before bidding or buying means they want to trade outside of Dewgraze which is prohibited as it usually results in transferring money and not receiving any goods. You will have no recourse should you trade outside of Dewgraze.
- Communicate through Dewgraze - use the "Contact Seller" link featured on every listing to communicate with the Seller as this ensures your message is delivered directly and is recorded for your protection.
- Do not visit another website to buy the item - asking you to go to another website is likely to be a scam and you may lose your money without receiving any goods.
Advice for Sellers
- Only ship within the UK/EU - do not ship items to unknown places, espeically overseas to locations such as Nigeria.
- Accept UK/EU payments only - do not accept cheques or bankers drafts from overseas. They may initially clear but can later be found to be fake.
- Ignore 'send first' requests - do not send any goods until you have been paid in full. Ignore e-mails stating the goods must be shipped first before receiving payment.
- Communicate through Dewgraze - use the website to reply to messages from Buyers. This ensures your message is delivered directly and is recorded for your protection.
